Project 4 Awesome 2012 is DONE!!!
After 48 hours and over $440 000 raised for charity p4a 2012 is over! Although voting is finished, you can still contribute through P4A’s Indigogo page.
I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who organized and contributed to P4A this year. Last year was my first time and it was amazing, somehow this year managed to blow it out of the water. It was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in online community and it was all for a good cause. It reminds me of why I’m going to school for what I want - to help others and bring attention to non-profit organizations through a medium of creativity and education.
Whilst sitting at 1am watching Hannah hart draw an eyeliner goatee and Wil Wheaton getting googly eyes stuck to his face, I thought - these are my people. This is where I’m most comfortable, being surrounded by a community of nerdy goofballs who live all over the world and are doing completely silly things for fun but also for a greater cause.
While not everyone can go help build a well in a third world country or work at home with youth at risk - everyone can act as a messenger of awareness. With social media today that has been easier than ever, but even offline, we can contribute by telling our friends and families about these causes that may not get much promotion otherwise. We can be silly, we can be creative, we can work together.
And that’s what Project 4 Awesome is for me and I honestly cannot WAIT for next year.

There Is No “Them” - Project For Awesome
This is the story of Muslims, Christians, Hindus, and Jews — along with those of many other faiths and those with no religion at all — uniting to help those in need. Together we helped transform a community in need.
Where once children studied in the dirt — they now have a school building. Where once students had no access to a sanitation — now they have a school bathroom. Where once students had no access to clean water — they now have a school tube well.
